Sandringham Park Upgrade

Sandringham Park is getting an upgrade and the playground equipment is being replaced. We do have an urgent matter though, and need to pull out the yellow roofed play equipment on Friday, 9 June. The reason is that the soft fall is breaking down and is no longer safe. The other play equipment station will be left for children to play on until we have completed the community engagement and are ready to install all the new equipment.

The Basket Swing will be staying. Sadly though, the Basket Swing has been stolen and is currently out of action. An order has been put in to replace the basket and we have been told there is a wait time of up to 12-16 weeks for it to be delivered. As soon as it arrives, we will install it for you.

For us to make sure we get the best outcome for the park, we would like to chat to you about how you use the park and hear your ideas for the type of playground equipment to replace the current ones. We have two ways to collect your feedback; an online survey which you can find under the Tools bar below and three Pop Up engagement sessions in June:

Pop Up engagement sessions -

1. Monday 12 June, 3.00pm -5.00pm Big Games, Bubbles, Face Painting, Coffee Van

2. Saturday 17 June, 10.00am -12noon Big Games, Bubbles, Face Painting, Plant a Pot, Coffee Van

3. Tuesday 20 June, 9.30am - 11.30am Craft, Bubbles, Face Painting, Coffee Van

Once we have all your feedback from the survey and pop up sessions, our inhouse Landscape Architect will draw up the concept design plan. We will then loop back to you by having another pop up session in the park and by email to see if we have captured everything before the final design is completed.

As a local neighborhood park, we have an allocated budget and need to stay within this, so things like toilets and adventure elements will be out of reach. However, we do have enough funds to add value to your local park by replacing existing play equipment to make it relevant, fun and safe.

NOTE - The Survey has now closed. Please see the responses from the survey in the News Feed below. If you have any ideas or questions please contact Jenny (contact details are in the right hand column under 'Whos Listening '
