The William Bertram Community Hub is a proposed initiative to transform part of the William Bertram Community Centre into a welcoming, community-led space where residents can gather, connect, and participate in various activities.

The Expression of Interest is open to not-for-profit organisations that can demonstrate experience in community engagement, creating welcoming spaces, and fostering social connections.

The City is offering free venue hire for designated spaces within the William Bertram Community Centre and support from City Officers for information provision and promotion

No direct funding is available through this Expression of Interest process. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate their capacity to deliver proposed activities through their own resources, partnerships, or alternative funding sources.

Community members can get involved by sharing ideas for activities and programmes, volunteering their time and skills, participating in future community Hub activities, and spreading the word about this initiative.

Yes, local businesses will have opportunities to collaborate on activations and initiatives to encourage people to visit, shop, and stay longer in the town centre.

Activities could include informal gatherings, access to community information and resources, community-led activities and programmes, and opportunities for social connections and skill-sharing.

The Community Hub project aligns with the Bertram Place Plan's objectives of creating connected, vibrant, safe, and inclusive places within the Bertram town centre.

The selected activation will begin with a 6-month trial period, followed by optional annual extensions subject to performance review.

Extensions will consider:

• Demonstrated community engagement metrics

• Alignment with quarterly review outcomes from our Partnership Agreement protocols

• Evidence of responsive programming shifts per resident feedback

Success will be measured through factors such as community participation rates, feedback from users, the variety and quality of activities offered, and the project's impact on social connections and community wellbeing.
