Help us develop the City's Age-Friendly Action Plan
We recognise our seniors' significant contributions to the community. The purpose of the Age-Friendly Action Plan is to articulate the City’s commitment to supporting an active ageing community by optimising good health, community participation and to enhance the quality of life as people age.
We need your help to develop the City of Kwinana as an age-friendly community. The City’s Age-Friendly Action Plan consists of strategic actions that will address the localised needs of an ageing population through the lens of extensive community engagement. The World Health Organisations (WHO) Age-Friendly Cities eight domain areas were also considered in developing this plan.
Your feedback will help us identify the areas we need to focus on, and what can be done to support and promote the well-being of seniors over the next five years.
Who is a senior?
The term 'senior’ does not have a specific definition, the age at which an individual identifies as a senior depends on several factors including societal norms and employment. However, residents 55 years and older are considered seniors for the purposes of this plan.
How can I get involved?
Residents, service providers, carers, advocates, and individuals that engage regularly with seniors in voluntary or paid roles are encouraged to participate in this initiative. Please complete the survey below.
