The City of Kwinana, in December 2022, hosted an end of year celebration for local community organisations. As a result of new connections made, along with the relationships built from the Kwinana Local Recovery Network, attendees and the City felt that coming together as a collaborative group will continue to improve the outcomes for our community.
As such, the Community Services and Partnerships Department invites all service providers, community and social services within the City of Kwinana to join the Community Services Working Group (CSWG) in 2023.
The CSWG is an informal network and aims to build relationships across the community services sector and the City of Kwinana , to promote information-sharing, identification of gaps, and the celebration of successes of services across the region. This will be a great platform to share learnings, updates and data, enabling us to identify areas of improvement, and funding opportunities impacting the sector.
Through this collaborative effort, the City of Kwinana can identify how best to support community organisations, and advocate for more services to be delivered locally.
The CSWG will provide all organisations;
Better communications with stakeholders
Access to broader networks
Ability to promote services operating within Kwinana
Stronger advocacy for the region
Break down of silos
Provide updates and sharing of information
Provide a solution-focused environment
Identify funding opportunities with support services
By building and strengthening relationships across the sector, the CSWG will provide an opportunity to promote services and organisations within the region, ensuring we collectively provide better services and support to the Kwinana community.
The CSWG will also provide the City of Kwinana the opportunity to recognise and identify areas we can support the Not-For-Profit sector to reach more of the community, while advocating for more services and funding.
