Council Plan - Heading towards one hundred
Welcome to the City of Kwinana's Council Plan
We're eager to hear about your visions for the City in 30 years, as Kwinana heads towards one hundred. Your input is key to shaping our future, please take a moment to share your views below and make sure your voice counts in building the tomorrow we all dream of.
The Strategic Community Plan is the City’s guiding strategic document and represents our community’s long-term vision, values, aspirations and priorities and what we will do to achieve them. This document drives the City’s budgeting, planning, resource allocations and service delivery, in order to focus our efforts and align our activities to achieve our community’s vision.
To ensure that the community’s changing aspirations are reflected, a minor review of the plan is undertaken every two years, and a major review every four years. We are currently commencing our major review, which is expected to be adopted in June 2025.
The State Government is reforming the Local Government Act 1995, reforms are aimed at ensuring local governments better serve residents and ratepayers. By simplifying the framework local governments can better focus their resources towards service delivery instead of extensive planning.
Proposed changes include the introduction of a Council Plan, which will replace some of the City’s existing key plans. It is expected that the Regulations will be approved and published mid this year, with Councils being required to have implementation completed by June 2026.
Our Council Plan, like our current Strategic Community Plan will outline the community's strategic priorities, vision, and desired outcomes for the future, offering a cohesive and collaborative roadmap for the City's four-year delivery program of actions.
Community Perceptions Survey
The community will have the opportunity to participate in the Community Scorecard and Wellbeing Scorecard, the focus of these is about you and your rating of services and facilities in your local area as well as telling us about your needs so we can ensure that we understand and meet community wellbeing priorities.
Take the next step: complete your Community Perceptions Survey.
