The City of Kwinana has received a development application for additions to the existing Chicken Farm at the above address.
The application proposes to add an additional chicken shed to the existing Chicken Farm on the subject site.
The proposal consists of the following elements:
Propose a new chicken shed at the rear of the lot (identified as Shed 3), to be located between existing Shed 1 and Shed 2. The shed will be identical to Shed 1 and Shed 2 in terms of size. The height of the shed is 5.2m to top of roof pitch and 3.8m to top of wall.
The proposed new chicken shed would accommodate additional 20,000 chickens, which will total an operational capacity of approximately 76,000 chickens across all poultry sheds.
Propose a new egg packing shed (identified as Packing Shed) within the northern portion of the lot which is set back from Anketell Road by approximately 68 metres. The height of the shed is 3.9m to top of roof pitch and 3m to top of wall.
The applicant stated that the inclusion of the packing shed would improve operational efficiency on the site with no additional truck visits required to accommodate the increase in chickens capacity.
