Events play an important role in supporting the growth of our community and provide significant social, cultural and economic benefits.

The City of Kwinana seeks to ensure that all public events held in the City are conducted in a safe manner and meet the different legislative requirements and standards.

The Draft Events Policy aims to provide a framework that ensures a consistent and equitable approach to the assessment and approval of public events. The City would like to simplify the application process for smaller events and to provide clarity to help event organisers better understand the approval requirements and timeframe. These documents can be found in the right hand menu on this page.

The City wants to encourage event organisers to consider aspects of sustainability and accessibility, and to recognise Aboriginal culture when planning and delivering events.

Following the adoption of the Events Policy, the City will be preparing a set of updated guidelines and updating the format of online event application forms.

Written submissions on the Events Policy must be received by 4pm on 22 August 2023 and may be lodged below.

Update - This policy was adopted at the Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM) on 15th September 2023 to improve the event approval process and support vibrant and active spaces that encourage community participation. Updated documents can be found on the right hand side of this page.
