Consultation has concluded

The City of Kwinana is seeking to amend Local Planning Scheme No 3 (LPS3) to allow for “Drive-In Takeaway Food Shop” and “Licensed Restaurant” uses to be considered within the General Town Centre zone in the Kwinana City Centre. This is proposed to be achieved by amending LPS3’s land use permissibility to allow for the discretion of the decision maker to approve these uses within this zone.

The amendment will assist to address historic inconsistencies in planning for the City Centre and provide for the development of key sites within the City Centre along Chisham Avenue.

At its meeting on 26 October 2022, Council resolved to initiate Amendment No. 6 to the City of Kwinana Local Planning Scheme No 3. Following this meeting, the amendment was forwarded to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) who have now provided consent for the amendment to be publicly advertised.

The application is being publicly advertised until 4th September 2023. Following the advertising period, all submissions will be considered, and the amendment submitted to forwarded to the WAPC for determination.
