WHAT IS IT?
The City of Kwinana is piloting a project for ten lucky streets to improve safety, and sustainability by connecting our streets and neighbourhoods.
When streets participate in our initiative, these are the following benefits:
Enhanced Street Aesthetics: Through a one-off mowing, and hedging, we aim to beautify our streets
Increased Biodiversity: We will offer two native plants to add to your garden
Strengthened Community Safety with Relationships: Create WhatsApp and Facebook groups for your street, to foster better communication and collaboration among neighbours.
Improved Council Relations: Working closely with us face to face, we will listen! We can connect you to multiple beneficial community services
Enhanced Safety: Free community safety resources! Our collective efforts contribute to a safer neighbourhood, where everyone feels secure and comfortable.
Recycling Bin Audits: We'll conduct audits of recycling bins on each street, in full view of all neighbours, to encourage transparency and accountability. As a reward for 'facing your waste' participants will receive a $30 VISA card!
Demystifying the Recycling Bin: Our goal is to clarify how to use recycling bins effectively, making it easier for everyone to contribute to a cleaner future.
Waste and Recycling Conversations: We'll facilitate discussions about waste management and recycling to increase awareness and encourage responsible practices.
Educating & Reporting Antisocial Behavior: We'll guide you on how to report antisocial behaviour, to keep our community safe and clean
