For an update and the proposed Pump Track Design please see the latest News Feed Tab below.
Background:
A group of Wandi residents recently raised some concerns with the City of Kwinana around the lack of activities or infrastructure for youth in Wandi/Honeywood. The initial request was for a pump track, or similar skate/bike infrastructure, to be built.
There had also been some dirt jumps constructed by young people in a bush area, which the City unfortunately had to clear due to Dieback being prominent in that space.
On Tuesday 29 November, 2022, City staff met with a group of around 20 residents at the Honeywood Oval to discuss ideas about youth activities in the area.
Discussion:
Many great ideas were raised by residents, which have been captured on the ideas board below, be sure to add your ideas too! There were suggestions around pump tracks, skate facilities, dirt jumps, trails etc. and also other sporting equipment like 1-1 basketball courts.
Outcomes:
While it is not possible at this stage to commit to hard infrastructure, the City officers are working with the community on the following:
Transport options to attend January 2023 School Holiday Programs at The Edge Skatepark (pick up and drop off, from Honeywood Pavilion, advanced registration is required, more details in the News Feed below).
Investigate hosting youth programs in Wandi.
Engaging with local youth to identify and explore longer term options for infrastructure in the area.

The City now has a budget of $60,000 to build a Jump/Pump Track and have started Stage 1 of the process by bringing Three Chillis Design (Mountain Bike specialists) onboard to engage with young people in the local area and draw up the concept design. The concept design will then inform Stage 2 - Track Build.
Thank you for taking the time out to complete this feedback form for us. Your feedback will be taken into account by Three Chillis Design.
