LYRiK AWARDS are still OPEN!
The LYRiK Awards are the City of Kwinana’s annual Youth Awards. Let’s celebrate and recognise the success, achievements, character, and passion of young people who work, live, or play in the City of Kwinana.
The Applications close on the 19 May. Please nominate youth or youth groups aged 10 - 24 years, for one of the 6 categories, to be acknowledged and celebrated at the Awards ceremony and can receive a $250 cash prize.

To overcome challenges in the application process, please see the below solutions:
- For the ‘Address’ section: If you don’t know the address of the nominee/s please put the address of the school or sporting club they are a part of that is based in Kwinana.
- For the ‘DOB’ section: If you don’t know the exact DOB, we need to know the month and year in which they were born to confirm if the nominee/s fit the criteria.
- For the ‘Photo section’: If you are unable to upload a photo please upload the logo or the school or sporting club the nominee/s are a part of that is based in Kwinana.

Nomination categories are below!
Sport and Recreation Achievement Award:
Recognises a young person/s who has excelled in their chosen sport or recreation as a player, an official or, as a volunteer.
Examples may include:
- Volunteering as a coach or referee for their games or younger age group games.
- Demonstrating good sportsmanship
- Mentoring younger players or other members in their team
- Being selected at a representative level
Achievement in Career or Education Progression Award:
Recognises young person/s who is striving towards, and taking the initiative in, developing skills and knowledge in their chosen career and/or education pathway.
Examples may include:
- Acquiring voluntary accreditation and training certificates
- Excellence in the workplace
- Volunteer career experience such as a Barista Training Program
Community Inspiration Award:
Recognises a young person/s who positively influences others by igniting and driving community change.
Examples may include:
- Taking the initiative to address community gaps
- Overcoming challenging personal circumstances in their day-to-day life
- Starting a social movement or community group
Leadership Award:
Recognises a young person/s who displays strong leadership and positively impacts the local community.
Examples may include:
- Active participation on a school council or community group
- Volunteering in the community
- Planning a youth event or bringing out the best in others.
Respect for Land & Water Award
Recognises a young person/s who displays commitment in addressing environmental and/or cultural matters.
Examples may include:
- Conducting regular beach clean ups
- Participating in green teams in schools or volunteering in a Bushcare or Aboriginal Rangers program.
- Initiating recycling practices in their school
Social Justice Advocate Award:
Recognises a young person/s who advocates for social change in the Kwinana community.
Examples may include:
- Organising an awareness/advocacy campaign in their community or school
- Engagement with social justice groups/organisations
- Being a voice for marginalised members of our community
