Online Safety Advice for Sports Clubs

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) encourages the sport industry to take action in creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful digital environment for all athletes, coaches, officials, and supporters.

The eSafety Commission provides a range of information and resources for sport organisations and athletes, relating to:

• protecting athletes, officials, and teams from harmful online behaviour and how to respond effectively.

• social media safety, including setting up accounts securely and educating young athletes on responsible digital use.

• supporting coaches and clubs to help manage online risks and foster respectful digital engagement.
