The LYRiK (Leadership, Youth Respect in Kwinana) Scholarships & Awards are back for 2025, celebrating and supporting inspiring young people who contribute to their community!

🏆 LYRiK Awards – Recognising young people (10-24 years) who demonstrate leadership, community spirit, or personal growth.

A young person or group of young people can be nominated for one of six LYRiK Award categories in two age groups, 10 – 17 years and 18 – 24 years. Every Award winner will receive a $250 cash prize and an invitation to attend a Leadership Day in July.

📚 LYRiK Scholarships – Providing financial support and mentoring to help young people (15-24 years) pursue their education, training, or career aspirations.

The LYRiK Scholarships Program offers twelve $1000 Scholarships to young people aged 15 – 24 years who live, work or go to school in Kwinana, have an employment or education goal they want to achieve and would benefit from mentoring.

Recipients will attend four fortnightly mentoring sessions in May/June at the Zone Youth Space and can either be matched with a suitable mentor or apply with an existing mentor. The mentoring sessions will give recipients the opportunity to develop financial, budgeting and goal setting skills tailored to suit their needs and learn more about their field of interest from a mentor working in that area.

👥 Be a Mentor – Join our program to support a scholarship recipient on their journey!

We are seeking community members aged 18+ to volunteer as Mentors for young people aged 15-24 years who have received a LYRiK Scholarship. Mentors will support and guide the young person step by step through the process of achieving their educational or employment goal at weekly mentoring sessions.
