Welcome, new Community Development Officer (Recreation & Inclusion)

I'm very pleased to let you know that Jessie Burke has been appointed to the role of Community Development Officer - Recreation & Inclusion.

Jessie comes from a strong sporting background: competing in state and national level basketball as a junior, and SBL (or now NBL1 League) as a young adult for Cockburn. Jessie also had a very successful Athletics career of 14 years specialising in shot put and discus, and held numerous club and state achievements.

When she is not working, Jessie now enjoys playing social A-grade women's basketball and coaching athletics at her old high school. Passion for all sports, for participation, for fitness, for 'the social' and for winning are just a few reasons Jessie has led the early life she has and why she is working in this position at the City of Kwinana now.

Jessie not only holds the club development portfolio but also the health promotion and Public Health Plan 2019-2023 portfolio. She spent six years studying a double degree in Health Promotion and Nutrition at Curtin University.

Welcome to the City, Jessie!
