This is also an opportunity to network with other local clubs and organisations over light refreshments at a local venue.

    Facilitated by Garry Collins from JGC Group, this workshop will cover:

    • Understanding the key steps to resolve conflict – source, background, reason, solution, agreement. 
    • Reflective listening and the use of open-ended questions.
    • Identifying and responding to different drivers of conflict.
    • Dealing with emotive situations.
    • Focusing on solutions and negotiating favourable outcomes.
    • Recognising the value of open and transparent communication.
    • The value of collective leadership - supporting others.
    • Understanding and applying the club’s formal conflict resolution procedures.

    Gary has been developing and delivering workshops for sporting clubs and organisations since 2012 covering topics from succession planning, club finances, governance and volunteer management. On top of this Gary has extensive experience working with not for profit groups develop their strategic planning documentation.

    How to Make Yourself Redundant; A Practical Workshop on Committee Succession Planning


    Facilitated by Rick Smith from Elite Business Performance, this workshop will cover:

    • how to identify and engage with key stakeholders and their roles in the succession planning process
    • best practice strategies for effective committee succession planning, including how to find and recruit the best people
    • the important structures and processes to help make succession planning easy
    • How to develop a customised succession plan framework and how to implement this for your organisation

    Rick has over 20 years of experience working in, and consulting for the not-for-profit sector. He has delivered countless workshops for numerous local governments on various matters including governance, strategic planning, dispute resolution, leadership, volunteering, and financial sustainability. In particular, Rick has worked with several national, state, and local organisations to develop practical and fit-for-purpose succession plans for their organisations.

  • Please join us at our next Information and Networking Night to discuss: Marrying up Club Culture & Coaching for Player Retention.


    This session is aimed at Presidents and Coaches and will discuss:

    • What is a coaching philosophy and why do I need one?
    • Why marrying up the club ethos and coaching philosophy matters
    • Coaches - what and how you do things makes a massive impact
    • Those in front of you are important


    The session will be presented by Paolo Franzoni who has a remarkable coaching career spanning 23 years, including a Cricket Australia High Performance Level 3 accreditation (the highest coaching qualification in the sport). Paolo combines his deep passion for cricket with a broad enthusiasm for sport in general. Paolo's diverse experience includes working with Australian players with intellectual disabilities, blind and vision-impaired athletes, WA State players, State pathway players, Premier Cricket players, community cricketers, and players in the Integrated Cricket League. At Joondalup-Kinross Junior Cricket Club (multiple Club of the Year winner), Paolo has excelled in mentoring coaches, reflecting on their coaching philosophies, and creating engaging, enjoyable practices that retain players and build an exceptional club culture.


    Come along to what will surely be an informative and inspirational evening, which will benefit Presidents and Coaches for all sports.
