Skate Sculpture Pop Up Event

Ascot Park Pop Up - On Saturday 18 September, skaters and community members came together to discuss the skating elements people wanted to see in the design of the small skating area as part of the Park Upgrade. Lots of great feedback was collected to inform the type and placement of skating elements for the small beginner skate area.

Mat from Skate Sculpture, the organisation completing the design and build of the skate area, had images of 12 different types of elements that could be included in the design. It was up to riders to select their 3 favourite elements from - Flat Rail, Flat Edge, Manual Pad, Wallie, Spine, Slappy Bank, Street Humps, Hip, Wedge, Flow Humps, Quarter Pip and Bank. Riders also had the chance to plot where they felt each element would be best placed in the space.

The Ascot Park Upgrade design can be viewed at the Bertram Community Centre (9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday) or downloaded from the Document Section on this page. The skating element design will be completed by February 2022.
