Wall - Remain or remove?
A car crashed through the limestone wall at Ascot Park in 2021. We took the opportunity at the Park Pop Up to ask you if the wall should be rebuilt or pulled down. The majority of community who responded to the survey asked for the wall to be rebuilt as it will increase safety for children playing at the playground and provide an opportunity to place a "Welcome to Bertram" sign.
The wall will be rebuilt by 30 May 2022.
Local artist Luke and his friends did an impromptu design on the wall as part of the Park Pop Up Day. It is in chalk paint and can be removed at any-time. It was such a hit that they have been invited to a series of Youth Art Workshops at the Bertram Community Centre to work on designs for the Water Corporation to paint the Storage Container at Orelia Primary School. So many of the designs created are amazing, so we have asked them to paint 2 of these on the parks walls in May.
