Pop Up Event - Your invited to view the new design

We would like to invite you to our Sandringham Park pop-up event on Thursday, 29 February, 4.00pm - 6.00pm, to view the park upgrade design. The design has taken longer than expected and we thank you for your patience. The reason for the delay is that in the initial community consultation many people asked for a basketball half court. City officers knocked on doors and chatted to people living closest to the park (within 100m radius of the proposed location) to establish if a court would be complimentary to the area. Noise complaints can be high in areas with basketball courts, and we had to ensure residents did not lose their peaceful lifestyle. As there was concern on the noise level with the bounce of the balls, we have withdrawn the basketball half court from the design and replaced it with equipment for ages 12 years and up.

Please join us at the pop-up event for a free sausage sizzle, ice-cream and big bubbles activity. Officers will be on hand to discuss the design upgrade and updated timeline for completion of the work.
