Wellard West Community Facility
The Wellard West Community Facility is a new building currently under construction. This shared-use facility will be located adjacent to the Wellard Primary School and McWhirter Oval. The project aims to provide a versatile space for community activities, sports, and events.
The facility is expected to include:
A large multipurpose space
Changerooms and showers
Commercial kitchen and separate kiosk
Storage areas
Public toilets
Verandah/spectator shaded space
We are seeking community input to:
Determine desired activities and programs for the facility
Gather ideas for optimal use of the adjoining oval
Identify potential user groups and their needs
Register your interest if you represent a sporting group or state sporting organisation
Attend upcoming community workshops and events (dates to be announced)
Construction start date: 24th March 2025
Expected completion: Planned to open for the start of the 2026 Winter season (April 2026)
Community engagement period: 11th March 2025 to the 6th April 2025
Clubs registration of interest period: 14th April 2025 to the 18th May 2025
